La Liga has become the leader in the number of players who won the World Cup in 2022.
This year`s title was won by Argentina. In the final, Albiceleste beat rivals from France (3:3, on penalties - 4:2).
Ten players in the Latin American team represent La Liga: Jeronimo Rugli, Juan Foit (both Villarreal), Germán Pessella, Guido Rodriguez (both Betis), Gonzalo Montiel, Marcos Acuña, Papa Gomez (all Sevilla), Nahuel Molina, RodrigoDe Paul, Angel Correa (all - Atlético).
There are also five players from the Premier League: Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa), Christian Romero (Tottenham), Lisandro Martinez (Manchester United), Alexis Mac Allister (Brighton), Julian Alvarez (Manchester City).
Four players were called up from Serie A clubs: Paulo Dybala (Roma), Lautaro Martinez (Inter), Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes (both Juventus).
Two players each represent the Portuguese and French leagues. We are talking about Nicolas Otamendi, Enzo Fernandez (both Benfica), Nicolás Tagliafico (Lyon) and Lionel Messi (PSG).
The Bundesliga (Exequiel Palacios, Bayer) and the MLS (Thiago Almada, Atlanta United) were delegated to the Argentine national team. In Argentina, only Franco Armani (River Plate) is among the national team players.
